Assistance for smokers is provided through cessation counseling and the use of pharmaceutical aids. As well, tobacco services aim to prevent the onset of smoking among youth through education and engagement in civic activities. Many youth become aware of the tobacco industry's marketing and promotion practices and work in their local communities and schools to counter-act the glamorization and advertising of tobacco products and reduce access to tobacco products. They work with adult allies to develop and implement media campaigns and advocate for public and private policy changes.
